Sketch with Us April 22, 2018!

Sketchers, it's that time again, mark your calendars and plan to join us and sketch!

When: Sunday, April 22, 2018 2-4pm

Where: The Citadel, Charleston

We will meet in front of Summerall Chapel on 171 Moultrie St at 2pm. There is parking in front of the chapel as

well as around the campus. The weather forecast looks promising so far so grab your favorite sketch book and a friend and we'll see you there!!

Sketch-Out at the College of Charleston Cistern, Downtown Charleston, October 15, 2017

Urban Sketchers Charleston will be getting together on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2-4pm at the College of Charleston Cistern. We will meet at the raised oval area in the Cistern yard, sketch around The College area, and then meet back at 4pm for a group photo with our sketches.  There is a garage nearby on St. Philip Street and also parking at meters is free on Sunday!

Sketch-Out at The Charleston City Market, Downtown Charleston, September 17, 2017

Urban Sketchers Charleston will be getting together for a sketch-out on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2-4pm.  Plan to meet at 2pm inside the Market Pavilion Hotel on the corner of S. Market and East Bay Streets.  Weather permitting, we will sketch all around The Charleston City Market area and then meet back at 4pm for a group photo with our sketches.  Don't forget, parking at meters is free on Sunday!

Sketch-Out at The Tall Ships Festival, North Charleston, Sunday, May 21, 2017

The Tall Ships are in Charleston!

Plan to join us Sunday, May 21, 2-4pm at The Tall Ships Festival at the Veteran's Naval Shipyard to sketch these beautiful ships. Click this >>LINK<< for important information including: Directions, Parking ($5.00), and what NOT to bring (NO backpacks, food and water for starters). 

Please follow the directions and signs to the event carefully.  Our group will be meeting in front of the ship with the GREEN HULL, GREEN SAILS and German flag at 2pm.

This will be a fun event.  Wear a hat and sunscreen and pack lightly.

Sketch-Out at Riverbanks Zoo, Columbia, SC, Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Come join us Tuesday, May 23, 2017, for an excursion to Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC.  For those who wish to carpool or caravan, we will meet at 8am at The Studio, 2408 Ashley River Road, Pierpont Crossing Shopping Center, Charleston, 29414.  Estimated arrival at the zoo should be around 10:30am.

**PLEASE NOTE: There will be an admission fee to the Zoo.**

Sketch-Out at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park (Charleston RiverDogs Stadium), Sunday, April 23, 2017

Come join us at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park (also known as "The Joe") to sketch on Sunday, April 23, 2017.  We will meet at the front entrance at 2pm on Fishburne Street and sketch until 4pm.  There is a game that starts at 5pm, you will have to purchase a ticket if you plan on staying.  Bring your sketchbook and a friend and enjoy a pleasant afternoon at the ballpark.

St. Patrick's Day Sketch-Out at Tommy Condon's Restaurant, Downtown Charleston, Sunday, March 19th

Urban Sketchers Charleston is going green in honor of St. Patrick's Day!  Come meet and sketch with us Sunday, March 19th at Tommy Condon's Restaurant, located at 160 Church Street, Downtown Charleston.  We will meet in front of the Restaurant at 2pm and then sketch until 4pm.  Bring your favorite sketchbook and a friend and enjoy the afternoon with us!

Please join Urban Sketchers Charleston on Sunday, February 19th at Charleston City Hall, Downtown Charleston. We will meet on Broad Street in front of City Hall and sketch in the area from 2-4pm. On-street parking is free on Sunday and there should be plenty of parking in the area.  See you there!

Urban Sketchers Charleston Participating in the 54th Worldwide Sketchcrawl Day, Saturday, January 28th at Whole Foods, Mount Pleasant, 3-5pm

Please join us as Urban Sketchers Charleston takes part in the 54th Worldwide Sketchcrawl Day with a theme of Chinese New Year.  We will be Sketching inside Whole Foods in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, January 28th, from 3-5pm.  Bring your sketchbook and a friend and join in the fun!

Sketch-Out at Mother Emanuel AME Church, Downtown Charleston, January 15th, 2017

Please join Urban Sketchers Charleston this coming Sunday, January 15, 2017 for a special 3rd Sunday Sketch-Out as we honor the spirit of Martin Luther King and sketch downtown at Mother Emanuel AME Church, located at 110 Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston. We will meet at 2pm in front of the church, sketch for a couple of hours and meet back up at 4pm. On-street parking is free on Sunday and there is plenty of parking in the area.

Upcoming January 2017 Events

We will have our regular 3rd Sunday Sketch-Out on Sunday, January 15th, from 2pm - 4pm. On Saturday January 28th the Charleston Urban Sketchers group will be participating in the 54th Worldwide Sketchcrawl Day with a theme of Chinese new year. Please Join Us For Our December Sketch-Out - December 18th, 2016, Marion Square

Our next sketch outing will be Sunday, December 18, 2016 2pm-4pm. We will meet at the Charleston Holiday and Farmers Market in Marion Square, downtown Charleston. Meter parking is free on Sundays and some of you may be fortunate enough to have received a free parking garage parking pass in your water bill, if not, here is a voucher (courtesy of the Charleston City Paper) that you can print. 

We will meet at the fountain on the corner of Calhoun St and King St.

Join Us For Our September Sketch Out!

Please join us for our September Sketch Out at The Folly Beach Fishing Pier, Folly Beach on Sunday September 18th from 2 pm to 4 pm. There is a fee to park in the parking lot so I would suggest finding on street parking (if you want to park for free).  We will meet downstairs by the flag pole at the entrance to the pier at 2 pm, sketch for two hours, and meet back up at 4 pm to share our work and take a group photo for our Facebook page.  Looking forward to sketching with you!
